WHAT ARE DENTURES?

Dentures are a replacement for teeth and surrounding gum tissue that is removable. Well fit personalized high-quality dentures improve your ability to speak and eat naturally. It can also help in restoring your youthful appearance. There are a variety of options available today. This is to fit every patient's needs.

CONVENTIONAL FULL DENTURES

This type of removable denture is to replace all teeth. They are custom made to fit your mouth perfectly, including imitating your gumline and teeth. This solution is one of the most affordable available. The main disadvantage to this option is that they may become unstable due to gradual bone loss that occurs after tooth loss.

OVERDENTURES

This option is an exceptionally stable, long term option. It is slightly more expensive than the conventional option. They are supported by natural teeth, if available, or dental implants, if not. These support the overdentures and maintain bone volume, resulting in keeping your natural facial structure.

PARTIAL DENTURES

There are two types of partial dentures, removable and fixed. Both are available if you have remaining teeth. Both types are supported by permanent teeth or dental implants that surround a gap left by missing teeth. Much like dentures, they have replacement teeth attached to a gum-colored plastic base. The permanent version is cemented to crowns placed on the existing teeth. The removable version has internal clasps that can attach to clasps placed on the crowns. This ensures the teeth surrounding the gap do not move. It is also very stable and resembles your natural teeth.
